CIS Awarded Another 21st CCLC Grant!

CIS was awarded a TEA 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Cycle Six grant to administer ten after school programs in Brazoria and Southeast Harris Counties. Along with continuing programs at West Columbia Elementary and Longfellow Elementary in Alvin, we will open new centers at the following campuses:

• Alvin Fairview Junior High
• Alvin Elementary
• Galena Park Middle School
• Galena Park Cloverleaf Elementary
• Pasadena High School
• Pasadena Memorial High School
• Pasadena Queens Intermediate
• Pasadena Southmore Intermediate / Shaw Middle School

With the previous TEA Cycle Four and Cycle Five grants, we offer after school services at thirty-one campuses in Sweeney, West Columbia, Brazoria, Angleton, Alvin, Pasadena, South Houston, and Galena Park. 21st Century will open our doors beginning August 31st and continue to add students throughout the school year. We will provide such services as tutoring, homework help, healthy snacks, youth development, sports programs, photography, video production, art, music, culinary arts, forensic science lessons and computer skill development.
