ABOUT

Communities In Schools Mentoring Programs match identified students in Pasadena and Brazoria County schools with trained mentors.

Mentors serve as role models and provide youth with one-on-one caring relationships.  This improves school performance and promotes self esteem and social responsibility.

This program enables students to be active contributors to their families, schools and community and helps youth grow to be healthy, caring and responsible students. Mentoring Services are offered in Alvin, Angleton, Pasadena, Pearland, Sweeny and West Columbia.

Students benefit from mentoring in many ways:

• Improved school attendance and academic performance
• Improved peer, family & school bonding
• Increased self-esteem & character building
• Improved leadership skills
• Improved problem solving skills

Mentors benefit also:

• Satisfaction of giving back to the community
• Providing a positive role model
• Encouraging students (our country’s future) to reach their full potential
