ACE Celebrates Patriotism

Students from the ACE Summer Program visited the University of Houston Clear Lake to discover America’s history. The students learned about the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and viewed an exact replica of the liberty bell. They also learned about the American flag and how to properly fold it, made bookmarkers for the Veterans at VA hospitals, and listened to military veterans give a firsthand account of military history and witnessed a mock court.

CIS-ACE Celebrates Lights On Afterschool

This year marked the 16th annual national celebration of Lights On Afterschool.  The CIS-After-school Centers on Education (ACE) programs hosted five events putting the spot light on afterschool programs.  These events were held at San Jacinto North and Central campuses, Alvin Community College, Columbia-Brazoria ISD's West Brazos Junior High and La Porte's Bayshore Elementary.  Over 2,000 students and families from the CIS-ACE programs located in those areas participated in the events that put the focus on the importance of CIS programs.
